Oh dear godhellip;..This is going to be one short review because this film is sooohellip;hell I donrsquo;t know what to say. Well here is the plot..er story thing behind it because the plot is rather lacking: Itrsquo;s about a modern day vampire who was cursed by a pirate back in the day to relive the day his love died by being killed with a ham bone every 20 years or something. And itrsquo;s about him trying to save the girl and blah blah blah. Yeah thatrsquo;s it..oh and along the way he forms a band and plays in one of the weirdest clubs ever and also turns into a flatulent bat. In the final scene he must battle the reincarnate of the pirate who wields a hambone since thatrsquo;s what killed his love all those years ago. Dear lord this film even sounds stupid when typed out. Well then on to the point system

#1) This film is pure 80rsquo;s camp, Plain and simple. Cornballyness abounds. It does have its funny points but not enough to make up for the fact half of the gags are groaners.

#2) Thomas Dolby (of ldquo;She Blinded Me With Sciencerdquo; fame) plays Stanly, the funeral service person who also helps with one of the bands and is the pirate character reincarnate. (This is the fecking best part of the film).

#3) The musical numbers..oh god the musical numbers. Some are decent (the Thomas Dolby song.) others are well, just there and then othershellip;oh God There is one too many in my opinion.

#4) Can you believe this film has a cult followinghellip;who would have guessed.

#5) You can not tell from this review but sadly enough I actually enjoy this film from time to time. Mainly because I collect campy 1950s to 1980s B rated movies and this one is hard to pass up.

Final grade:
*What the hell was that*
But as with Juno the addition of someone I like (Thomas Dolby) in it raised it up to.
*room for improvement*

Now if you excuse me after that movie the bottle of vodka in the cabinet is looking quite good right now.
